Welcome to Learning to Interrupt!

I am Abigail, a fiction writer living in Northern California. My debut novel, The Drowned Woman, released this year.

I plan to use this space to primarily write about what I’m reading. I most often read novels in translation, books from independent presses, and many of my favorite books are less than 300 pages. I intend to write informally (no ‘official’ book reviews here) and personally, sharing my feelings and thoughts about the books I’m currently reading or planning to read.

You can also find me on Twitter, Instagram, and Goodreads.

The newsletter’s title comes from the following quote:

“To become a WRITER I had to learn to INTERRUPT, to speak up, to speak a little louder, and then LOUDER, and then to just speak in my own voice which is NOT LOUD AT ALL.” ― Deborah Levy, Things I Don’t Want To Know
