Welcome to Learning to Interrupt!

I’m Abby, a fiction writer living in Northern California and the author of two novels, The Drowned Woman and Foundations, as well as a speculative short story collection, Assemblage.

I use this space to write about what I am reading. I prefer to write informally (no ‘official’ book reviews here) and personally, sharing my feelings and thoughts in addition to my experiences with writing, publishing, and reading.

You can also find me on Instagram or via my author website.

The newsletter’s title comes from the following quote:

“To become a WRITER I had to learn to INTERRUPT, to speak up, to speak a little louder, and then LOUDER, and then to just speak in my own voice which is NOT LOUD AT ALL.” ― Deborah Levy, Things I Don’t Want To Know
